How come USA manufactured goods lasted MUCH longer than “Made in China”?
I just bought a brass clock that was made in the United States of America in Connecticut by one of your grandparents. The people who put diligent work into this clock on the assembly line are probably all deceased,
it’s a simple, clock with a piece to mechanically rewind the second hand and it was made with enormous care.
The old rusty mechanical clock made and manufactured in the United States, is STILL TICKING!!! out of the box!
Made to last more than a century…. I wish I could bring the deceased back to show them the clock they put hard manual labor into…American labor…… continues to outlive them and work beautifully

I would not rather buy crap. It is also environmentally unfriendly to buy crap that breaks down and then repeatedly needs to be thrown into the waste basket.
Most Chinese stuff is manufactured on a low budget, so its quality is low. This doesn’t mean that Chinese factory workers can’t do better; it just means that they’re required to put very little time and effort into their products.
My brother told me of a German company that makes fencing armor whose owner traveled to China to investigate counterfeits of his products and was so impressed with the quality that he opened a factory there, making armor that’s just as good (in his opinion, and he would know) for something like a tenth of the cost. This is not the same as when a Chinese company makes a $30 ladder or a $30 pair of shoes when they should cost $300 were they made right. In the latter case, someone decided that consumers would not pay so much for the product and, in many cases, that someone is right.
